Origami is the ancient art of folding paper to produce animals, people, or anything else you can imagine. In traditional Japanese origami, the paper is simply folded, not cut or pasted. Paper folding is most beautifully expressed in the forms, such as the crane, that I have above. The crane, a symbol of good fortune and longevity in Japan, it is also the most popular of the animal forms that I have ever done for other people and it is the basic shape for many others.
